What Couples Say About the Starlight Experience
“Paul and Jen made our wedding day stress free and amazing. They walked us through everything step by step, and our guests still talk about what an incredible time they had.”
Scott Grover - Craigowan Golf Club
Woodstock, Ontario

“I’ve been to a lot of events and experienced many DJs, and Paul and Jen are beyond the best. They kept the dance floor packed, made the whole process easy and worry free, and made our night feel truly special.”
Joshua Pember - Woodstock Legion
Woodstock, Ontario

“Paul and Jennifer were nothing short of amazing. The planning process was seamless, communication was excellent throughout, and they helped the whole day run so smoothly.”
Why Two Professionals Matter
A wedding reception has too many moving parts for one person to manage well at the same time.
While Paul is handling the music, announcements and energy on the dance floor, Jennifer is watching the timeline, coordinating with your venue and vendors, gathering the right people, preparing for what happens next—and, for couples who choose it, serving as their licensed officiant.
That means Paul does not have to step away from the music to find the wedding party, check with the photographer or solve a timing issue. Jennifer can handle those details quietly while the celebration continues.
You receive two experienced professionals with separate responsibilities—not one DJ trying to do everything at once.
The result is a wedding that feels organized, relaxed and seamless, while you remain present with your guests instead of managing the reception yourself.
“They had our guests on the dance floor all night. They made us feel like royalty on our day!”
— Jessica Vella, Ingersoll, Ontario

A Wedding Dance Floor That Grows With the Night
A packed dance floor is not just about playing popular songs. It is about knowing when to bring people in, when to shift the energy, when to give the room something familiar and when to move the night forward.
Wedding guests are rarely all the same age or interested in the same music. Your parents, grandparents, coworkers, university friends, younger guests and wedding party all bring different tastes and comfort levels—and that mix changes as the night goes on. Older guests are often ready to call it a night while your friends are just getting started.
Our job is to make the music feel like you without losing the room, at every stage of the evening.
Before your wedding, we learn your musical preferences, must-plays, do-not-plays and the kind of atmosphere you want. On the night itself, Paul reads the room, balances requests and builds the energy song by song—starting with recognizable, broad-appeal music that brings every generation together, then moving into a higher-energy, club-leaning set later in the night as the floor fills with the guests ready for it.
The result is a dance floor that feels like your wedding at 7pm and still feels like your wedding at midnight—never a static playlist, and never about turning the DJ into the centre of attention.

The Best Wedding Problems
Are the Ones You Never Have to Solve
At one wedding, dinner had fallen behind schedule and the photographer was getting close to the end of their contracted coverage.
The cake cutting was still planned for later in the evening. If nothing changed, the couple could have missed having that moment professionally photographed.
Jennifer noticed the timing issue, checked with the photographer and venue, gathered the couple, and quietly moved the cake cutting forward.
The photographer captured the moment, the schedule adjusted smoothly, and the couple never had to step away from their guests to coordinate it themselves.
It was a small change, but an important one.
That is what happens when someone is watching the entire wedding—not just the DJ booth.
A Clear, Simple Planning Process

1. Wedding Flow Review
We begin with a relaxed phone or Zoom conversation to learn about your wedding, your guests, your music preferences and the kind of atmosphere you want.
We will also discuss your venue, timeline and any details that could affect the flow of the day.
2. Reserve Your Date
When you decide Starlight is the right fit, we send you a clear digital agreement and booking information.
Once completed, your date is officially reserved for Paul and Jennifer. We accept only one wedding per weekend, so your celebration receives our full attention.
3. Plan the Details
You receive access to our online planning portal, where you can organize your timeline, introductions, formalities, must-play songs, do-not-play songs and special requests.
Paul and Jennifer remain personally involved throughout the process, with planning meetings available whenever important decisions need to be made.
4. Enjoy Your Wedding
On your wedding day, we arrive early, set up carefully and coordinate with your venue and other vendors.
Paul manages the music, announcements and dance floor. Jennifer keeps track of the timeline, people and transitions happening around it.
You enjoy the celebration. We keep everything moving.
Are We the Right Fit for Your Wedding?
Starlight is designed for couples who want more than someone arriving with speakers and a playlist.
We may be a strong fit if:
-
You want a dance floor that starts with music everyone knows and builds in energy as the night goes on.
-
You prefer polished MC work without constant microphone hype, forced games or making the DJ the centre of attention.
-
You want great songs played long enough for your guests to enjoy them rather than rapid-fire mixing.
-
You value clear communication, thoughtful planning and knowing exactly who will arrive on your wedding day.
-
You want two professionals managing different parts of the celebration so you can remain present with your guests.
-
You are willing to invest more for an organized, reliable and personally managed wedding experience.
Another DJ may be a better fit if:
-
You want a nightclub-style EDM performance, heavy turntablism or a specialist hip-hop set.
-
You prefer an extremely animated hype-person who is constantly interacting on the microphone.
-
Your main priority is finding the lowest available price.
-
You only need someone to provide basic sound equipment and play a predetermined playlist.
-
You prefer to personally manage the reception timeline, vendor communication and formalities.
We are not trying to be the right DJ for every wedding.
We are the right team for couples who value a relaxed, well-run celebration and a dance floor that brings their guests together — and who understand that experience comes at a fair, transparent price.

Wedding Experiences & Investment
Every Starlight wedding experience is quoted as one clear, all-in price before you book — never a per-hour rate, never a surprise overtime charge, and never a fee you discover after your date is already reserved. Pricing may vary based on guest count and travel distance, and optional enhancements like uplighting or a video wall can be added if you'd like them — but you'll always know the full cost upfront, with nothing hidden on the invoice.
Every wedding is personally planned and led by Paul and Jennifer. We do not send subcontractors or substitute team members.
Wedding experiences begin at $2,800 plus HST. Most couples choose ceremony and reception coverage beginning at $3,300 plus HST.
Below is exactly what's included in each experience, so you know precisely what you're paying for before you ever pick up the phone.
BEFORE YOU COMPARE PRICES
Not All Wedding DJ Quotes Are Built The Same
Before you compare our pricing to a lower quote, make sure you are comparing the same job. Some DJs are quoting for music only, we are helping to manage the reception itself.

Ceremony Officiating—
Also Available as a Standalone Service
Jennifer is a licensed Ontario wedding officiant who creates ceremonies that feel personal, warm and true to the couple—not generic or overly scripted.
Officiating is available as a standalone service, including for couples planning an intimate ceremony, elopement, legal wedding or celebration without a traditional reception.
It can also be combined with a Starlight DJ experience for couples who want their ceremony and reception handled as one connected day.
Your Ceremony, Personally Planned
Jennifer works with you to understand your relationship, personalities and vision for the ceremony. Together, you will create something meaningful that feels natural to deliver and enjoyable for your guests.
Officiating includes:
-
A personalized ceremony script
-
Planning and guidance from Jennifer
-
A ceremony rehearsal
-
Coordination with your venue and wedding party
-
Performance of the legal ceremony
-
Completion and filing of all required legal documents
One Connected Experience
When officiating is combined with our ceremony and reception services, Jennifer remains involved beyond the vows.
She helps coordinate the processional, ceremony cues, transition into cocktail hour and important reception moments, while Paul handles the music, microphones and sound.
Because the same two professionals understand the entire plan, there are fewer handoffs, fewer communication gaps and less for the couple to manage.
Investment: $500 (officiating services are HST-exempt).

The Evening Glow and The Memory Wall may be added to The Overture or The Movement. Both are already included with The Opus.

Not Sure Which Experience Fits Your Wedding?
Most couples choose The Movement for complete ceremony and reception coverage, but every wedding is different.
Once we confirm that your date is available, Paul and Jennifer will help you determine which experience best fits your venue, timeline and priorities.

True Stories From Behind the Wedding DJ Booth
Weddings are live events. Timelines change, weather shifts, vendors run behind and unexpected problems sometimes appear without warning.
Paul wrote The Last Song Is Never the Whole Story to share what couples rarely see—the preparation, judgment and quiet decisions that help keep a wedding moving when plans change.
Drawing on experience from more than 150 weddings and 300 events across Southwestern Ontario, the book tells true stories about equipment failures, power outages, timing problems, difficult requests and meaningful moments that could never have been planned.
These stories explain why experience matters beyond choosing the music. It is about noticing what is happening, staying calm and knowing what to do next—without turning the problem into the couple’s problem.
